Our Mission
At Orchid Psychological Services, we know how overwhelming it feels when your child is struggling — academically, behaviorally, or emotionally — and you can’t get clear answers.
Our mission is simple: to provide fast, evidence-based psychological evaluations that give parents and schools the clarity they need to support children effectively.
Why “Orchid”?
Some children thrive in almost any environment, like dandelions. Others are highly sensitive, like orchids — needing special care and attention in order to flourish.
If you’re here, it may be because your child is more like an orchid. We are here to help you understand their needs and create a path forward that supports their growth at home, at school, and in the community.
Meet Dr. Margaret Rosencrans

Hello, I’m Dr. Margaret Rosencrans! Before I introduce myself, I want to say thank you for considering Orchid Psychological Services. Putting trust in a provider to support your child is not an easy task. It can feel vulnerable and even scary, understandably. I’m truly humbled and honored to serve in that role for you and your family.
Now, a little more about me: I’m a licensed psychologist with specialization in evaluation of neurodevelopmental disorders and co-occurring psychiatric disorders and treatment of behavioral difficulties at home and school. Trust me when I say, I’ve seen it all!
I obtained my doctorate in school psychology from the University of Oregon, as well as a Master’s degree in special education along the way. I completed my pre-doctoral internship at Marcus Autism Center (within Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta), and my postdoctoral fellowship at the Nisonger Center, a University Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities, at The Ohio State University.
In addition to extensive clinical training and experience, I have also worked in the research world for the 10+ years, having published numerous manuscripts in peer-reviewed research journals on family functioning in families of children with intellectual and developmental disabilities, mental health in adults with IDD, and school-based prevention programming.
My approach to evaluation is not just to identify the diagnosis—it’s to understand your child’s strengths and areas of growth; your child’s insights, needs, and preferences; which strategies are most effective, and more. While testing, I take a child-centered approach. By the end of our time together, I want to give you tailored recommendations that can lighten your load and set your child up for success.
If you’ve come here for therapy, know that my priority is to identify tools for your family to help improve your relationships with your children and to develop some effective emotion-regulation strategies. I want to collaborate with you to identify strategies that are realistic, feasible, and work well for your family’s context.
Our Promise
